Surrounded by open countryside, and near to the ancient Chandelais forest and fruit orchards of the Loire Valley, the property offers the ideal location for a relaxing holiday. Near to the famous Chateaux towns of Saumur, Angers and Tours, brimming with history and culture, and also renowned for some of the most excellent wines of the Loire region. Walking, riding or cycling are an ideal way to see the beautiful countryside. Golfers are well served at any of the 7 local courses. Or simply relax by the heated pool (open May till September) at La Petite Espérance and enjoy the Loire sunshine.
Our recently restored centrally heated stone Gite sleeps 4 people comfortably with the possibility of also renting a smaller gite (La Petite Soue) for 2 adults. This is only available along with La Petite Espérance. They are both located close to, but separate from, our own home and are very private with their own completely secure garden and entrance gates.
The main gite comprises an integrated kitchen, dining and sitting room which opens on to a patio with garden table, chairs, umbrella and a barbecue. The sitting room has comfortable seating with a CD player, cassette and radio and video/dvd player with a selection of films, DVDs, CDs and books. There is also a Playstation with games. The double bedroom is equipped with a wardrobe, dressing table and bedside tables. The twin bedroom has a wardrobe with integral chest of drawers, dressing table, mirror and bedside table. Both bedrooms have fans and hairdryers.
The dining area has a pine table and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. A full selection of china and glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils are provided. The bathroom has a walk in shower cubicle, basin and WC.
The smaller gite has one bedroom with twin beds, wardrobe and chest of drawers. The kitchen/living area has a small settee, cooker, fridge and kettle, along with china, glassware and limited cooking utensils. The bathroom has a shower, basin and WC. All bedding and linen is provided for both gites, along with towels, including swimming and kitchen towels.
The large 12 x 5 metre heated pool is shared with us and at the shallow end of the pool we have dedicated an area for our guests with 4 sun beds, a table and chairs and two umbrellas. The pool has wide steps for easy access and varies in depth from 1 – 2 metres. The terrace and grassed area surrounding the pool are fully fenced and are accessed directly by a gate from the Gite garden.
