In 2007, I took on Farm Shop Bembridge after working their part time for a year or so. I had no previous experience with 'veg' as I was worked in the bank for most of my life and as an learning support assistant for brief period before moving to the Island. This was my next challenge I would take on with my two children.
I can't quite believe I have owned the shop for more than 10 years now! And it has evolved into a quirky little village shop and now a café too.
It is bustling full of beautiful, seasonal fruit and vegetables as well artisan bread delivered daily from Island Bakers, and milk, cream and cheese from a variety of dairy farms on the Isle of Wight; not to mention our extensive whole food and health food range of goods. I can't even mention all of our Isle of Wight stockists due to the huge amount of Island produce we stock. We are so lucky to be an Island where amazing people work tirelessly to produce and grow such a wide variety of different foods.
This little shop & cafe is my life. I have worked hard for the past 10 years growing my business into something really special. We continue to grow and develop; I still can't believe how far we come! It's taken a lot from myself, my partner and my children and not to mention my fantastic team of staff I have currently have and ones I've had in the past.
